Note About The Speaking Test:

The speaking test has 3 parts. Part 1 is really a "get to know you" and the questions are very basic about your work, study, family, free-time and other 'easy' topics. These questions are not demanding, but you are expected to answer them with full sentences (not yes/no or other one word answers). Part 2 of the test requires you to speak for between 1 and 2 minutes about a topic on a card. Part 3 will be a similar topic to Part 2, but it is more of a discussion between the examiner and the student. See some typical questions below ...

Sample Speaking Test Questions (Speaking Test Part 2 and Part 3)

Example Questions

1. A House or Apartment You Would Like to Live In

2. An Interesting Animal You Have Seen

3. A Successful Small Business

4. A Crowded Place You Went To

5. A Family Member You Spend Time With

6. A Person Often in the News

7. The Desired Change to Your Local Area

8. A performance you enjoyed watching

9. An Important Text Message

10. A uniform you have worn

Of course, this is just a small selection of the many many questions topics that could come up on parts 2 and 3 of the test. That is why it is essential to have a speaking strategy so that you can get through the speaking test confidently and without panicking or major hiccups ! This is further explained in the feedback to the mock test.
