Introduction - identify what, where, when the data is about & the unit of measurement)
The data is shown in the form of two pie charts, which compare (in percentages) the different amounts of monthly income spent by Italian and Japanese householders on monthly expenses in 2015.
Overview - a general statement identifying GENERAL TRENDS.
Overall, it can clearly be seen that while Italy spent the most on groceries (food) and housing, Japanese people spent much less than Italians on food, but more on education and travel.
Body 1 - Contrast of 3 or 4 main features
In more detail, Italians spent over half of their household income on food and housing; at just less than a third (31%) and more than a fifth (21%) respectively. By contrast, the major expenditure of Japanese citizens was for housing at nearly a quarter (23%), while their outlay for education, housing and travel was similar at 19%, 18%, and 17% respectively.
Body 2 - Contrast 3 or 4 more main features
Interestingly, both Italian and Japanese households spent exactly the same proportion of their monthly incomes on leisure, ‘other’ expenditure and healthcare at a combined percentage of just under a quarter (23%), though Italians preferred to spend more on healthcare while the Japanese people paid more for leisure. Band 8.5
Note: Mistake in the OVERVIEW. Food - not Housing for Japanese households.
Thanks.
